This NZ fur seal off Montague Island in Australia was incredibly inquisitive, swimming around us, peering at our lights and reflective domes, even picking up and playing with an inadvertently discarded weight pocket from a previous diver. With regular night dives in the Great Barrier Reef, the local predators have learned to use divers flashlights to identify and snap up prey. Here a Giant Trevally swoops in under the light of our dive torch.
